Cold Ashton to Bath Loop - Friday Route Recommendation

Distance: 27km
Elevation Gain: 703m
Type: Trail
Route Link: Strava | Komoot

A gorgeous route incorporating the last segment of the Cotswold Way on the west, and part of the Limestone Link trail on the east.

It starts in Cold Ashton; a peaceful idyllic village with parking for walkers at the parish car park.

The first section has you slowly descending into Bath with overwhelming views of the surrounding countryside as you progress closer to the city.

Once you hit the city it takes you on a long run through the heart of Bath, including a handful of parks and a short stretch along the canals.

On leaving the city in the east we hit a challenging set of climbs across the hills leading back to Cold Ashton, made bearable by the sheer beauty of the area, peaceful surroundings & sight of the village off in the distance getting closer.

One of my favourite runs in quite some time, I can just imagine how it would feel to descend from Cold Ashton at the end of a multi-day through-hike along the Cotswold Way, seeing those vistas welcoming you to the finish.
